‘Tis the season when everyone is running around trying to prepare for the holidays, get the best bargains, and wondering if they are going to make it to the end of the year. If that is you, I hope you are taking time to take care of yourself. One of the ways I do that is to read a story where I know I can count on the ending making me feel good.
There are many books to choose from during this holiday season, but I wanted to collect ones from writers I admire and give you an interesting selection. A few of these even have times they will be available for free. All of them are very reasonably priced, and several are anthologies with holiday stories from a bevy of authors. I’ve given a brief description below, as well as a link so you can learn more about each of the books. Enjoy!
A HUSBAND FOR CHRISTMAS BY PATY JAGER – I’ve always loved Paty Jager’s books. They are good stories, well-researched, and the characters make sense to me. This one is from her historical western romance series featuring the Halsey family. Stranded in a stranger’s cabin, Shayla Halsey is forced to evaluate what she really wants. Maybe it wasn’t being home she wanted as much as it was to have a home.
THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS – This is an anthology with stores from 12 Windtree Press authors. It contains both fiction and non-fiction stories across several genres. These 12 diverse and heartfelt stories explore the love, messiness and miracles of Christmas.
HOLIDAY ON ICE BY JODY WALLACE – What I love about all of Jody’s books is her sense of humor, and this one is no exception. I think the tagline summarizes it well: “Travel Queen Survival Tip #23: If you get stuck in an ice storm, find a hot guy to melt it!”
A DECEMBER WITH A DUKE BY COLLETTE CAMERON – Collette Cameron absolutely loves the Regency era and you can tell it by the books she writes. A review of this book is enough to get me to buy it. “This Christmas Holiday Regency historical by a USA Today bestselling author will make you smile, laugh, and sigh as Griffin woos Everleigh, his reluctant widow.”
STARS ARE BRIGHTLY SHINING – A historical romance anthology with 10 authors from Dragonblade Publishing. I was introduced to this anthology by Collette Cameron. If you love historical romance, you’ll recognize many of these bestselling authors.
DIANA BY JUDITH ASHLEY – A marriage in trouble. At a loss as to how to go forward, Diana turns to her Tarot deck, a Winter Solstice gift, for guidance. Her request? Show Me The Way. But is she willing to open her heart to what is suggested?
CHRISTMAS COURAGE BY MAGGIE LYNCH – If you’ve been following my newsletter or social media posts, you know this novelette is available now for FREE in both ebook and audiobook through the end of the month. Learn more about it on my previous blog post announce it’s availability.
WINTERTIDE SPELL BY JODY WALLACE – In this holiday novelette, Jody weaves a fantasy romance that may not be quite what it seems. If the King is fated to love thirteen women before he turns fifty, is he still husband material? How will Queen Geneva deal with this problem? This lovely tale is also available as a FREE ebook. Be sure to pick it up now.
YULETIDE SLAYING BY PATY JAGER – Paty’s mystery series featuring Native American potter, Shandra Higheagle, is off to a bumpy holiday season when Shandra’s dog brings her a dead body in a sleigh full of presents. See how she and Detective Greer solve this case without losing their own lives.
THE HOGMANAY STRANGER BY MAGGIE LYNCH – Hogmanay is a celebration of the New Year in Scotland. In this novelette featuring characters from the Sweetwater Canyon series, a stranger is allowed into the Inn on New Year’s Eve, but is he trustworthy? This is available in both ebook and audiobook. It will be FREE between Christmas (Dec. 25) and the first week of 2020. So check back to get information on how to download your free ebook and audiobook then.
WINTER WISHES – Another historical romance anthology with multiple authors. This one contains 13 never-published before Regency Christmas Romances. These are NY Times and USA Today bestselling authors. Thank you again from Collette Cameron for the heads up.
I’d love to hear from you if you’ve already read any of these selections or have others you’d like to share with your fellow readers. I’ll be linking back to this post from my social media accounts, as will other authors here. So, whatever comments you make will be seen by others.
